First Meeting of the Grimaldi of Monaco Historical Sites

The First Meeting of the Grimaldi of Monaco Historical Sites was held on Saturday, 23 and Sunday, 24 June on the Place du Palais.

Entertainment, combat in mediaeval armour, folk dances, shows, games and workshops for children punctuated this weekend of festivities.

The Marquisate of Les Baux and the County of Carladès, of which Crown Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella bear the titles, as well as the town of Menton were honoured over these two days.
For the occasion, accompanied by H.S.H. Prince Albert II and H.S.H. Princess Charlene, Crown Prince Jacques wore the traditional costume of Les Baux-de-Provence and Princess Gabriella the traditional costume of the Barrez area.

The evening of Saturday 23 June began around the traditional Saint John's day fire with dances by La Palladienne and the folk groups in attendance.
It ended with an original "sound and light" show which recounted the history of the Grimaldi Dynasty projected on the facade of the Princely Palace.

All these festivities took place in the presence of T.S.H. the Prince and the Princess of Monaco, Their Children, H.R.H. the Princess of Hanover, H.S.H. Princess Stephanie and members of the Princely Family.
