State visit by HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco to the Czech Republic

The Sovereign Prince will be in the Czech Republic for a State visit from 8 to 10 April 2015.

 

HSH the Prince will be greeted by the President of the Czech Republic, Miloš Zeman, on Thursday 9 April, at Prague Castle for an audience between the two Heads of State.

 

The discussion will bear in particular on economic and cultural cooperation between the two countries, their respective relations with the European Union and other topical issues.

 

HSH the Prince will also visit St. Vitus Cathedral, where he will be greeted by His Eminence Cardinal Dominik Duka, Archbishop of Prague.

 

Michel Dotta, Chairman of the Chamber of Economic Development of Monaco, will take part in this State visit with a delegation of entrepreneurs from the Principality.

 

On this occasion, they will meet their Czech counterparts to develop bilateral economic relations.

 

A signature ceremony will take place at the Ministry of Industry and Trade in the presence of HSH the Prince and Deputy Minister Vladimir Bärtl.

This agreement will confirm the rapprochement of the Chambers of Commerce of the Principality and the Czech Republic.

 

HSH the Prince will also meet the Mayor, Adriana Krnáčová, and in the evening, HSH the Prince, His delegation and the entrepreneurs will be the guests of President Miloš Zeman for a State dinner.

 

On 10 April, the day will start with a visit to the Monegasque Consulate in Prague and will continue with a meeting with the Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, then with Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka.

 

The Sovereign Prince will then go to the Vitkov National Memorial in Prague, where a commemorative ceremony will take place in the presence of both delegations.

 

This day will end with a visit to the Strahov Monastery, famous for its library, over eight hundred years old.
