H.S.H. Prince Albert II’s Official Visit to Moldova - 4 and 5 May 2017

On 4 and 5 May, Prince Albert II conducted his first Official Visit to the Republic of Moldova.


In the capital, Chisinau, H.S.H. the Prince was received on 4 May by H.E. Mr Filip Pavel, the Moldovan Prime Minister.
On this occasion, a framework bilateral cooperation agreement was signed between the governments of both countries, together with a memorandum of understanding between the Moldovan Ministry for the Environment and the Prince Albert II Foundation.


Then, the Sovereign Prince closed the Economic Forum organised by “The Business People Association of Moldova” which was attended by a delegation of Monegasque entrepreneurs from the Monaco Economic Board (MEB).
Two economic agreements were signed by the MEB.


H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince was also received at the Parliament by its President Mr Andrian Candu, who presented the institution's operations.


In the afternoon, Prince Albert II laid flowers at the Stephen the Great Monument in Chisinau.
The official dinner given by the Moldovan Prime Minister was held in the famous Cricova winery.


On 5 May, H.S.H. the Prince also met H.E. Igor Dodon, President of the Republic of Moldova.
The Sovereign Prince was presented with the Insignia of Doctor Honoris Causa by Mr Gheorghe Ciocanu, Rector of Moldova State University and met the Moldovan student youth with whom he shared his commitment for the environment.


Finally, H.S.H. Prince Albert II met the FC Zimbru football team and the under 14s team at the Zimbru Stadium in Chisinau.
