The world association of children's friends (AMADE) held on 12 and 13 April its annual General Assembly in the Principality of Monaco. Apart from the meetings, the association has concluded an official partnership with Monaco Telecom.

For another year, the Novotel Monte-Carlo was the host of AMADE's annual General Assembly, presided by H.R.H. The Princess of Hanover..

Members of the AMADE network and ground partners joined for two days of meeting in order to share their experiences and discuss about the issues they had to face in their child-support activities

The Monegasque Cooperation and Fight Aids Monaco being both present as observers, a special highlight was given to the program dedicated to assist orphans and vulnerable children in Burundi, initiated in 2008 through AMADE Burundi's community network.

More than 30 000 people benefit from AMADE Burundi's activities -- among them 10 000 orphans. The main objectives of the program are access to education, healthcare, prevention of mother-to-child HIV transmission, micro-finance and financial autonomy for the families.

In the same time, AMADE and Monaco Telecom signed an agreement -- the Monacan telecommunication company becoming an official partner of the association by making the commitment to supporting AMADE's activities. Represented by its General Director Martin Péronnet, Monaco Telecom shows its willingness to get involved with Monaco's civil society.
