Trip by HSH Prince Albert II to Singapore: UNEP award for H.S.H. Prince Albert II for His commitment to sustainable development

On Tuesday 22 April in Singapore, H.S.H. Prince Albert II attended the opening of the “Global Business Summit for the Environment” before meeting nearly 200 students at the Singapore Science Centre.

In the afternoon, the Ruling Prince went to a round table on « Advancing the Climate Agenda through Policy, Mitigation and Adaptation ».

In the evening, H.S.H. Prince Albert II participated in the « Champions of the Earth » Gala organized by UNEP. There, He received the Award for Europe, for His action in favour of sustainable development. UNEP emphasized the remarkable work undertaken in the Principality to reduce CO2 emissions and the Fondation Prince Albert II de Monaco’s international action.

After declaring how honoured He was at receiving the prize, the Ruling Prince invited all the players present to « be ever more inventive, clear-sighted and generous. Let us unite our wills to save our Planet. The future of humankind depends on it. »

Other winners included Timothy E. Wirth, President of the United Nations Foundation; Rt. Hon. Helen Clark, Prime Minister of New Zealand and HE Abdul-Qader Ba-Jammal, Prime Minister of Yemen.

On Wednesday, H.S.H. Prince Albert II had chaired a fundraising evening for His Foundation.
