Mr Wilfrid-Guy LICARI was accompanied for the occasion by Mr Robert Trudel, First Adviser (Political matters) with the General Delegation of Quebec. After being welcomed in front of the Porte d'Honneur of the Palace by the Company of Carabinieri guard of honour under the command of Colonel Yannick Bersihand, Senior Commander of the Police Force, Mr Wilfrid-Guy LICARI was taken to the Hall of Mirrors by H.S.H the Prince's Chamberlain, Colonel Luc Fringant, with Mr Robert Trudel.
Mr Wilfrid-Guy LICARI then proceeded to give her letter of presentation to H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince who was accompanied by the Secretary of State, Mr Jacques Boisson, Head of H.S.H the Prince's Government, Mr Georges Lisimachio and H.E. Mr Franck Biancheri, Government Counsellor for External Relations and for International Economic and Financial Affairs. After the ceremony, H.S.H the Prince held a private audience with the Delegate in the family drawing room.
Since Québec is now represented at UNESCO, cooperation with Monaco in the framework of this organisation becomes possible.
The Québec government's strong commitment to environmental protection makes this issue a subject of common interest.
During the celebration of the 400th Anniversary of Québec in Monaco, from 5 to 14 December 2008, a special week should be dedicated to Québec in the Principality.
Monaco and Québec are particularly active in the context of the French-speaking world. HSH Prince Albert II will be in Québec for the ‘Sommet de la Francophonie' in October.|
