The royal couple will visit South Africa for the 17th United Nations Climate Change Conference to be held in Durban from 28th November to 9th December 2011.

The Prince will take part in the opening plenary session and various workshops at the ''Inkosi Albert Luthuli" international centre on 6th and 7th December.

The Prince will attend the evening organised by the United Nations Foundation, in partnership with His Foundation, on the theme of energy efficiency on 6th December and, accompanied by Princess Charlene, will go to the UNEP "One Billion Tree Campaign" event, at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on 7th December. At this event, he will pay tribute to Wangari Mattai, who was also a member of his foundation's board of directors.

On 8th December, the Royal Couple will meet with Archbishop Desmond Tutu in Cape Town. The Princess met the former Nobel Peace Prize winner last July, and they had hoped to meet again soon to discuss the various humanitarian operations in South Africa in order to establish synergies with the Princess' future Foundation.

The Prince and Princess will then attend the presentation of the Polaris project by the Polar International Foundation at the Clock Tower.
