To commemorate the 20th anniversary of MONACO's membership of the UN, H.E. Mr Ban Ki-moon** will conduct an official visit to the Principality, at the Prince's invitation, on 3rd and 4th April.

H.E. Mr Ban Ki-moon and his wife, Mrs Ban Soon-taek, will be received at the Prince's Palace in the early afternoon on 3rd April. After military honours and the reciprocal presentation of the delegations in the Main Courtyard of the Prince's Palace, the Prince will meet with the Secretary-General in the stateroom. At the same time, H.S.H. Princess Charlene will hold a meeting with Mrs Ban Soon-taek**, in an adjacent room.

H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco and H.E. Mr Ban Ki-moon will then visit the Oceanographic Museum to deliver a speech in front of the State bodies.

Finally, an official dinner given in honour of the Secretary-General and his wife will be hosted at the Prince's Palace.

*Monaco was the 183rd Member State to join the international organisation on 28th May 1993.

** H.S.H the Prince and H.E. Mr Ban Ki-moon recently spoke at the "Rio+20" Conference at a side event organised by Monaco in partnership with the World Bank on the issue of protecting the oceans.

*** Since 2007, Mrs Ban Soon-taek has been dedicated to the health of woman and children, particularly issues related to autism, the eradication of violence against women and the campaign aimed at preventing the maternal-foetal transmission of HIV/Aids.
Princess Charlene is honorary president of the "Monaa" (Monaco Against Autism) association and has created the Princess Charlene Foundation in Monaco.
