In order to continue teaching children water safety and how to swim through Her Foundation, H.S.H. Princess Charlene of Monaco will travel to Capbreton, in an area of France known as Les Landes this Sunday, 1st September 2013.

The Princess's commitment to teaching children the importance of knowing how to swim has strengthened still in recent weeks with the dismal drowning statistics throughout France so far this summer season. "My Foundation continues to support projects highlighting the importance and awareness around aquatic safety. Too many children are drowning each year because they do not know how to swim. This could easily be prevented if they had the opportunity to learn. It would save their lives as well as give them the confidence they need in the water.

Free Diving World Recordholder Pierre Frolla, one of the Foundation's ambassadors, will also be present to help support the Princess in her efforts.

Approximately 150 students from the region aged from 5 to 11 years old will participate in the day-long event which will concentrate on teaching children the dangers around water as well as demonstrating swimming techniques both in a pool and then later in the day in the ocean. This event is organised thanks to the participation of the Capbreton lifeguards, several top-level athletes as well as around 50 volunteers.
