THS the Prince and Princess of Monaco visited the new premises of the Children's Home (Foyer de l'Enfance) accompanied by the Director, Patrick Serre, and many personalities from the Principality, such as HE Michel Roger, Minister of State, HE Jean-François Robillon, President of the National Council, HE Philippe Narmino, Director of the Legal Department, President of the Council of State, Stéphane Valeri, Counsellor for Health and Social Affairs, Michel-Yves Mourou, President of the Crown Council, and Georges Marsan, Mayor of Monaco.

After a speech by HE the Minister of State in the presence of future residents, Princess Charlene unveiled the plaque for the Home. The Princess enthusiastically accepted that the Centre be given her name, since it corresponds to a major role of society, the protection of children.
She also offered the Director a painting by the contemporary artist Romero Britto.

It has taken eight years for the establishment to come into existence. It represents a new step in the social policy of the Monegasque Government to further consideration of the needs of children in distress and their families in Monaco. The Princess Charlene Children's Home has the mission of providing housing and protection of minors under legal supervision. It is open permanently 365 days a year.
