HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco was in Düsseldorf on Monday 2 February 2009 to attend the launch of the German branch of the Prince Albert II Foundation.
The day began with a meeting with HE Jürgen Ruttgers, Minister-President of North Rhine-Westphalia. Then, the Sovereign Prince met with the Mayor of Düsseldorf, Dirk Elbers.
He then went to E-ON Headquarters where He was greeted by Johannes Teyssen, the company's vice-president. After a meeting on E-ON's ‘renewable energy' sector, a partnership agreement was signed between E-ON and the Foundation for the supply of carbon credits.
In the late afternoon, the members of the Foundation's Board of Directors shared a privileged moment with HSH the Prince before attending the inauguration ceremony for the Foundation's German branch at the Düsseldorf Contemporary Art Museum, at which HSH Prince Albert spoke.
The Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation is already present in France, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada and Switzerland. Founded nearly three years ago, the Foundation has already brought support to over 80 projects in regions in the circum-Mediterranean area, emerging countries and Polar Regions.
