In the morning, after speeches by José Galletti, the Mayor of Lucciana, Sophie Besson, Programme Coordinator, and Philippe Pergola, Scientific Director of the site of Mariana, the Sovereign Prince laid the cornerstone for the future “Prince Rainier III of Monaco” Museographic Centre.
After a visit to the Cathedral of Mariana, HSH the Prince inaugurated the new Sports Complex, unveiled a commemorative plaque, gave the sign for the start of a friendly soccer match Lucciana-Monaco.
Then, the Sovereign Prince attended the Monaco-Lucciana Twinning Agreement. This ceremony opened with speeches by HSH Prince Albert II, followed by the Mayor of Monaco Georges Marsan, the Mayor of Lucciana José Galletti and the Préfet of the Haute-Corse département Jean-Luc Nevache. Members of the Town Council from both municipalities then read the Twinning Agreement, the Mayors signed the Twinning Charter and the commemorative plaque was unveiled. Students from the music school of Lucciana sang Dio vi salvi Regina, and the Monegasque National Anthem and the Marseillaise were also performed. A reception brought the festivities to a close.
