Presentation of credentials by HE Francisco Seixas da Costa, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Portugal to the Principality of Monaco

HE Francisco Seixas da Costa, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Portugal, presented his credentials in a ceremony held in the Palace of Monaco on Friday 5 February.

The ceremony took place in the presence of Jacques Boisson, Secretary of State, Georges Lisimachio, Head of Cabinet of HSH the Prince, and HE Franck Biancheri, Government Counsellor for External Relations and International Economic and Financial Affairs.

At the end of the ceremony, HSH the Prince received the Ambassador for a private audience in the Salon de Famille.

The two States are participating in the “Barcelona Process: Union for the Mediterranean” and wish to develop a maritime policy for this zone. They are also favourable to the principle of “sustainable fishing” with their very close positions in the area of environmental protection.

On 9 April 2010, the Sovereign will go to Lisbon for an official visit to meet the President of Portugal, Anibal Cavaco Silva.
