To celebrate ten years of the International Polar Foundation, presided over by Mr Alain Hubert, and partner of the Prince Albert II Foundation of Monaco, the Prince will attend a gala dinner in Brussels on Wednesday 3 October.
T.S.H. Prince Philippe of Belgium and Princess Mathilde will also attend this event during which films and speeches will be used to reflect on all the actions carried out by this institution.
On Thursday 4 October, H.S.H. the Prince will take part in the 2012 Arctic Futures Symposium, on the future of the Arctic.
Organised by the International Polar Foundation, in partnership with the Prince Albert II Foundation of Monaco, this conference will bring together, politicians, ambassadors from the countries of the European Union and the Arctic, representative of the native populations and industry along with scientists to address the issue of the future of the Arctic.
Mrs Maria Damanaki, European Commissioner for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries and Mr Didier Reynders, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and European Affairs for the Kingdom of Belgium will speak during the morning.
