H.S.H. the Prince attended the resumption of the Changing of the Guard ceremony

Today at 11.55 a.m., the Company of the Prince's Carabinieri resumed the traditional ceremonial Changing of the Guard in the Square of the Palace of Monaco, taking into account social distancing measures.
On this occasion, H.S.H. Prince Albert II witnessed the Changing of the Guard from the windows of the Palace of Monaco.

Due to the crisis linked to Covid-19, the Changing of the Guard has taken place in recent weeks inside the Palace and without ceremony: with the agreement of H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince, the Carabinieri wore their working uniforms during this period.

It was the first time in its history that the Prince's Company of Carabinieri had not guarded the Palace in full dress uniform.

During the First World War, most of the Carabinieri were seconded to the French army and the Palace was guarded by Monegasques and retired Carabinieri in civilian dress.

The Changing of the Guard of the Prince's Company of Carabinieri can be seen every day at 11.55 am on the square in front of the Palace of Monaco.

As a precautionary measure, the wearing of masks and respect for physical distancing are compulsory for the public.
