H.S.H. Prince Albert II will travel to Rio de Janeiro in Brazil from 18th to 22nd June in order to take part in the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development "Rio+20". The Prince will take a message promoting a sustainable management of the seas and oceans.
On 18th and 19th June, accompanied by representatives from His foundation, He will attend several 'side-events' organised by the FAO, the Climate Group and the UN Foundation.
On 20th June, the Prince will attend the official opening ceremony for the conference and on 21st June, He will speak at the plenary meeting. He will attend the lunch given by Mrs Dilma Rousseff, President of the Federal Republic of Brazil in honour of Heads of State and Government. Then with President Tong of Kiribati, He will co-chair the event jointly organised by the Principality and the World Bank on Oceans.
During this visit, the Prince will meet with many politicians, including Jean-Charest, Premier of Quebec and Mr Corrado Clini, Italian Minister for the Environment.
