Concert with Cecilia Bartoli and the Musiciens du Prince-Monaco

H.S.H. Prince Albert II, H.R.H. The Princess of Hanover, accompanied by members of the Prince’s Family, attended an exclusive open-air concert by Cecilia Bartoli and the Musiciens du Prince-Monaco on the evening of Saturday 19 September.

Organised by the Société des Bains de Mer and the Monte-Carlo Opera, this concert was the very first cultural event to take place on the new Place du Casino, whose esplanade was renovated last spring. This new, open and modular configuration now makes it possible to host such public events.

For almost one and a half hours, the Italian mezzo-soprano, under the direction of the conductor Gianluca Capuano, performed the greatest arias of Charpentier, Händel, Rossini and Barberis in front of 200 guests.

Created in 2016 at the Monte Carlo Opera House with the support of H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince and H.R.H. the Princess of Hanover, the Musiciens du Prince-Monaco are the best international musicians on ancient instruments and form a baroque orchestra reviving the tradition of court music of the great princely, royal and imperial dynasties throughout Europe in the 17th and 18th centuries and, on this occasion performed alongside Cecilia Bartoli.
