Visit by the Princely Family to the Carladès region (Aveyron - Cantal)

Princely visit to Carladès
At the invitation of local officials, Their Royal Highnesses Prince Albert II, Princess Charlene, Crown Prince Jacques, and Princess Gabriella visited the Carladès region on Wednesday, July 9.
Eleven years after his first official visit, the Sovereign Prince returned with his family to these lands, which hold great significance for the House of Grimaldi, in order to strengthen the historical ties between the Principality of Monaco and this region of France. It was also an opportunity for Princess Gabriella, Countess of Carlades, to be honored during the day.
The county of Carlades, which has been attached to Monaco since 1643 by decision of King Louis XIII, was awarded to Prince Honoré II. Since then, the title has traditionally been held by the second in line to the throne. Thus, Princess Gabriella received this symbolic title at birth, while her twin brother, Prince Jacques, became Marquis des Baux.
First stop: Vic-sur-Cère (Cantal)
The central location of the former county, Vic-sur-Cère welcomed the princely family for the inauguration of Princess Gabriella Square. Surrounded by the local population and authorities, the young princess symbolically received the key to the city from Ms. Annie Delrieu, mayor of the commune.
Second stop: Mur-de-Barrez (Aveyron)
On Monaco Square, the Monegasque delegation was welcomed by Mr. Pierre Ignace, mayor of the town, before taking part in an official ceremony attended by a large crowd. Later, H.S.H. Princess Gabriella inaugurated a media library named after her, alongside her parents and brother.
Final stop: Carlat (Cantal)
This place steeped in history still has a strong link with the Principality today: the castle rock remains the symbolic property of H.S.H. Prince Albert II.
A botanical garden dedicated to Princess Gabriella was inaugurated there, marking a new gesture of transmission. A family photo was taken near the tree under which Princess Charlotte, grandmother of the Sovereign Prince, was photographed in 1912.
