For two days, the Principality was at the heart of a global dialogue on the future of the ocean. Political leaders, economic stakeholders, scientists, and NGOs came together to build a sustainable blue economy, a driving force for solutions for the planet.
This Forum, initiated and supported by H.S.H. Prince Albert II, ended with a strong message from the Sovereign:
“The blue shift is just ahead of us. The solutions are concrete, operational, and profitable.”
Avenues for action were explored in key areas: sustainable fishing, marine renewable energy, biotechnology, ports and shipping, and responsible tourism.
Concrete commitments were made, laying the foundations for an accelerated transformation of our economies.
Innovative public-private partnerships were encouraged, in the service of the climate, biodiversity, and future generations.
This collective ambition was taken to the highest level with the participation of French President Emmanuel Macron, Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, Costa Rican President Rodrigo Chaves Robles, HRH The Prince of Wales, and numerous heads of state and government.
