Bilateral meeting with Ms Mirjana SPOLJARIC, President of the International Committee of the Red Cross

On Friday, October 10, H.S.H. Prince Albert II received Mirjana Spoljaric, President of the International Committee of the Red Cross and Red Crescent (ICRC), in audience at the Prince's Palace.
The meeting focused on the humanitarian actions carried out jointly by the Prince's Government, the Monegasque Red Cross, and the ICRC, as well as the growing challenges related to compliance with international humanitarian law (IHL). The Sovereign expressed the Principality's concern about the increasing number of violations of IHL around the world and reaffirmed Monaco's continued support for the initiatives and actions carried out by the ICRC.
The ICRC President's visit to the Principality continued at the headquarters of the Monegasque Red Cross, where H.S.H. the Prince and Ms. Spoljaric were welcomed by Frédéric Platini, Secretary General, for a working meeting devoted to strengthening cooperation between the two institutions, particularly in the areas of logistics and human resources.
On this occasion, the two delegations also visited the exhibition “(you) LEAVE ME ALONE” by photographer Davide Primerano, dedicated to migrants living in extreme poverty in Ventimiglia. Presented by the Monaco Red Cross, it illustrates the ongoing commitment of its volunteers to helping the most vulnerable people just fifteen kilometers from the Principality.
