After being welcomed in the Cour d'Honneur of the Palace by the Company of Carabinieri guard of honour under the command of Colonel Yannick Bersihand, Senior Commander of the Police Force, Ambassador Mrs Asma ANISA was taken to the Hall of Mirrors by H.S.H the Prince's Chamberlain, Colonel Luc Fringant.
H.E. Mrs Asma ANISA then proceeded to present her Credentials to H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince who was accompanied by the Secretary of State, Mr Jacques Boisson, Head of H.S.H the Prince's Government, Mr Georges Lisimachio and Mrs Mireille Pettiti, General Director of External Relations Department. After the ceremony, H.S.H the Prince held a private audience with the Ambassador in the family drawing room.
The Islamic Republic of Pakistan becomes the fifty-fourth foreign power accredited to the Principality of Monaco. Consular relations between Monaco and Pakistan have existed since 27 August 1955.
Pakistan is engaged as Monaco in the Billion Tree Campaign of the United Nations Environment Programme as well as the fight against AIDS.
Pakistan also ratified the Convention on the rights of the child and accepted the Kyoto protocol on 11 January 2005.
