As part of the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, H.S.H. Prince Albert II holds weekly meetings with His Government in order to regularly adapt health measures to the changing situation.

The Government also continues to interact with the National Council during the working sessions of the Joint Committee.

Despite the increase in the rates of infection and the number of positive cases observed over the last 10 days, but in order to avoid a pause in the gradual easing of the sanitary restrictions, H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince has taken the following decisions:

-          The wearing of masks will no longer be compulsory outdoors from Saturday 19 June 2021, with the exception of the areas listed below: Place du Palais Princier and the lanes of the old town of Le Rocher, Place du Casino and the neighbouring areas that form the Carré d'or, Esplanade du Centre Commercial de Fontvieille, the Condamine and Monte Carlo markets during operating hours, public transport access areas and in particular the bus stops and the service roads of the railway station, the approaches and access areas to schools;

-          The curfew from midnight to 6am will remain.

He asked His government to conduct a consultation with representatives of the catering industry as soon as possible in order to define the conditions for a geographical extension of the reception of customers.

H.S.H. the Prince will assess the health situation next week in order to define the measures likely to be taken, with the twofold objective of protecting the health of the population and meeting the expectations of the economic stakeholders, particularly those linked to tourist activities.

He wished to remind people of the importance of respecting social distancing measures in the face of COVID-19 which continues to circulate in Monaco and throughout the world.

A return to normal life will only be possible through a mass vaccination of the of the population. The Principality currently has enough vaccines to cover the needs of 65% of Monegasques and residents over the age of 12.

H.S.H. Prince Albert II calls on all those who have not yet been vaccinated to take this step in order to regain their personal and collective well-being as quickly as possible and for the long term.
